Ron Evans, one of the founders of the club, RIP

It with great sadness we announce the death of Ron Evans, one of the founder members of the club in 1954.

Ron was first team hooker for many years, a former captain, and in the words of another former captain and great friend over many years to Ron, Pat Chamberlain, "the only man to be captain, run the bar, the sevens, wash the shirts, attend weekly meetings of the Irish club and drive people to the games in his Tyresoles van".

Ron was still a regular visitor to the club until recently, and will be very much missed.
