The 2nd & 3rd XV are in action

Old Bedians have two teams in action this Saturday with the second team playing Sefton 2s away and a home fixture for the 3s against Trafford MV 3s.

Let’s take a closer look at our opponents:

Sefton 2s
The Merseysiders have had a mixed bag of results at the start of the season having won one game and lost two.
Sefton’s first win of the season was its only home game so far against Bedians’ neighbours TocH recording a convincing 43-13 victory.
Sefton are new to the Division 3 South league having been relegated from Division 2 South alongside Capenhurst last season.
Old Bedians will be very aware of the tough nature of Division 2 and take nothing for granted going into Saturday’s game.
The team from West Derby have a strong pack at their disposal and will look to put Bedians backline under pressure with a creative kicking game to take advantage at the set piece.
The men from Didsbury go into the game with the league campaign well and truly back on track after last week’s strong win.
This promises to be an exciting match up which could go down to the wire

The game kicks off at 3pm at Sefton RUF, Thornhead Lane, Liverpool, L12 9EY

Trafford MV 3rd XV
Old Bedians third team will be looking for a fresh start on Saturday hoping to put the big loss to Marple behind them.
In Trafford MV, they face a strong team who play a similar game to Bedians, making use of a strong forward pack and set pieces to dominate the game.
Trafford 3s have played one game in Division 5 East having comprehensively beaten Carrington 2s 31-0 away from home.
Bedians and Trafford MV have always enjoyed a friendly rivalry on the pitch with frequent hotly contested match ups in Sale & Didsbury between all three teams over the years.
With only one league game played, the third team will be looking to register the first win of the season and Saturday’s home fixture provides as bigger chance as any.

The game kicks off at 3pm at Millgate Lane, M20 5QX.

Old Bedians are still recruiting for the 2018/19 season. All player new or returning are welcome, get in touch by emailing oldbedians@gmail.com or finding us on social media - we’re on Twitter and Facebook.
