Old Bedians are recruiting now for the 2019/20 season

The full pre-season schedule has been revealed for the upcoming 2019-20 season starting on Saturday 22nd June at 9.30am.

The first session will take place at Old Bedians sport centre, M20 5QX and will run from 9.30am until 12noon.

Old Bedians is recruiting now for the upcoming season and with three competitive teams, players of all abilities are welcome.

Pre-season training will take place every Saturday from 22nd June throughout the summer until the first competitive games at the end of August/beginning of September.

Alongside the planned sessions there will also be special one-off events including:

Saturday 13th July
Pre-season Bonding Day
Following the morning's training session there will be a BBQ hosted at the club before the players depart onto a 'fun bus' for some inter club paint balling and of course the obligatory fun bus karaoke.

Saturday 27th July
Pre-season friendly v Toc H
Bedians take on Toc H in a pre-season friendly hosted at Old Bedians.
There will be a BBQ taking place afterwards, another great opportunity to socialise with friends (new and old) ahead of the season.
There will also be training for those not playing in the friendly.

Why attend pre-season training?

Fitness
Every session will have a core fitness element to them. However it is more than just a blast out, each training session has been designed specifically for rugby players to prepare all players of all positions for the season ahead.

Technique
Be it perfecting your ruck mastery, improving your scrummaging technique or your artistry in the support play and decision making each session is tailored to improve you as a rugby player. The sessions target what technique is required for each position on the field.

Team bonding
With a huge 2019/20 season ahead of the club, pre-season is a great way to get to know your team mates. Some may have played at the club for years, for some it may be their first season, these sessions are a brilliant opportunity to get to meet one another and make friends for life. Saturday 13th July is our team bonding day!

Strength & conditioning
Our strength and conditioning programmes focus on re-engaging and activating player's muscles after the restful off-season. This is important to prevent injury as we build up for the new season.

Fun
It goes without saying that with every session there will be an element of fun built into it.
We want players to enter the new season strong, fit and ready but it is important to have fun along the way!
