You will probably all have noticed how great our pitches are looking at the moment. This is thanks to the hard work our team of pitch maintenance volunteers have put in mowing and line marking all year round. Special thanks to Leigh Prescott, Jon Gander, Declan Sealy, Ben Rogerson and Ed Henderson in particular this last 12 months.

Additionally this summer the pitches were reseeded and verti-drained to repair the worn patches, especially on the training pitch and warm-up area which was wearing very thin last winter. With some fortunate rainfall and some careful maintenance the hard work is paying off and we are blessed with some of the best pitches in the local area for everyone in the club to enjoy.

The club spent over £2,000 on these works and that was largely thanks to money raised from the Car Club Raffle that the club organises. This is a quarterly raffle for club members which costs only £1 per week to enter (paid £13 per quarter) and there is a £750 prize each draw (roughly what a car used to cost when the raffle was first set up!!).

We would encourage all club members to sign up to the Car Club as it’s a fantastic prize to win and the money raised will be used to help keep our pitches in fantastic condition.
