An action packed weekend of rugby is on the cards with all the rugby internationals on the big screen in the clubhouse and a mouth watering home tie for the 1s, Old Bedians is the place to be!

All three Bedians teams are in action on Saturday with games against Oxton Parkonians, Knutsford and Broughton Park 4s.

Let’s take a closer look at our opponents:

Old Bedians v Oxton Parkonians
Parkonians have only registered one win in seven outings this season, the solitary win came on the opening day of the season against Mossley Hill with a 62-10 victory.
The last time the two teams met was the final game of the season where Bedians recorded a 50-21 victory in the blistering Birkenhead sunshine.
Parkonians blend a mix of young talent and experience to produce a no nonsense style of play.
The Bedians pack will have to match the aggression in the loose and technique in set plays to carry on the winning streak on Saturday.

The game kicks off at 2.15pm at Old Bedians Sports Centre, M20 5QX.

Knutsford v Old Bedians 2nd XV

Knutsford sit just three points ahead of Bedians in Division 3 South and have recorded impressive wins against TocH, Moore, Sefton and Spartans.
The club was born out of England’s 2003 Rugby World Cup win and Knutsford have always possessed a young squad for selection.
This year, the Cheshire team have been helped out in the coaching department from Sale Sharks star Will Cliff.
Bedians will be targeting Saturday’s game as a big opportunity to move up the league table following a resurgence in form inspired by the victory over neighbours TocH.

The game kicks off at 2.15pm at Knutsford Academy WA16 OAZ.

Oldham 3rd XV v Old Bedians 3rd XV Barbarians
*In a change to the advertised game, (due to an opposition concede) Bedians now face Oldham 3rd XV.
Oldham sit in third place in Division 5 East having only had three defeats this season.
Oldham will present a significant challenge for the Bedian Barbarians with a big experienced pack known for their direct running.
Club stalwart Eugene Henry captains the side tomorrow and will no doubt lead from the front with his trademark direct running.
With the Carrington lads again combining to make up the BaBas, tomorrow’s game is likely to be one for the spectators with both teams expected to play an attacking style.

The game kicks off at 2.15pm at Oldham RUFC, OL8 2TJ.

Old Bedians are still recruiting this season. All player new or returning are welcome, get in touch by emailing oldbedians@gmail.com or finding us on social media - we’re on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
