By Shit Steve

Once upon a time in a land far, far away lived a band of adventurers by the name of Old Bedians. They were a fair and colourful motley crew of vagabonds and ne’er do wells known throughout the kingdom for their pint chopping and gun flexing abilities. But one fateful day their kingdom was invaded by the dark forces of Altringham Kersal and the battle lines were drawn. And so it was the brave Bedians did travel to cross swords with the mighty invaders on the muddy hallowed ground of Millgate lane. The charge was lead and battle commenced and the Bedians fought with vigour and courage. Sadly though it seems that was not enough, ability would play its part that day.
With a scrum that weighed more than a morbidly obese elephant and an opposing number eight, who had come down from the top of a beanstalk for the day, it proved too much for the Bedians. Who, never the less, never gave up and fought to the last man and the last minute. Fate was against them from the start and despite some rousing speeches from the older more tolkienesque members of the party and some determined performances it was not to be the Bedians day. There were many casualties and the forces of darkness were eventually victorious leaving the Bedes to lick their wounds.
But as Scarlet o Hara once said “Tomorrow is another day” and the Bedes may have lost the battle but the war is far from over and maybe, just maybe there is still hope that the Bedes may rise like a phoenix from the ashes one day….well either that or go and commiserate themselves down The Station. The End.
