The game started with a gruelling 10 minutes. Sefton started strong putting 17 points past Bedians to leave us on the ropes very early on. However, we didn't let this get to us and answered back with 2/3 tries in quick succession. The forwards were hard pressed against a strong and physical pack. Putting in the grunt work they opened up space allowing the backs to come out on top and give the boys in blue a lead at half time.
The second half was much of the same, several lapses in defence gas Sefton the opportunity to stay in touch. With only 10/15 minutes to go Sefton scored an equalizer. Bedes came back strong, spinning the ball wide with Ryan Keane putting down for the winning points in the corner. The drama of this game was still not finished, with the conversion going wide Sefton knew a converted try would put them in the lead. With five minutes to go and Sefton pressing hard Chris (Dickie) Pratt put in a questionable tackle on the wing. Making an attempt to decapitate the opposition winger. Having rightly seen yellow for this offence Bedians had five minutes to negotiate a man down. The boys in blue stayed strong and defended till the end winning by a five point margin. Excellent match all round, with Sefton providing sterling opposition. Good luck for the season lads.
