Didsbury’s men face two friendly foes on Saturday as the first and second fifteen take on Newton le Willows and Anselmians 2s.
Let’s take a closer look at our opponents:
Anselmians 2nd XV
The Wirral side have enjoyed a perfect start to the season registering four wins our of four and sit top of Divison 3 South ahead of Manchester 2nd XV on points difference.
Old Bedians will be looking to dismantle the 100% record having climbed the table in recent weeks with two wins on the bounce. The two teams faced each other three times last season with Annies registering two wins at home to Bedians one victory in Didsbury.
With a fast paced and creative backline paired with a big mobile pack Anselmians will be Bedians biggest test of the season. This game couldgo down to the wire and will be an entertaining battle in the Didsbury sunshine.
The game kicks off at 3pm at Old Bedians Sports Club, M20 5QX.
Newton le Willows
This will be the second time the two teams have faced each other this season as the two sides met in August for a pre-season friendly. Bedians ran out winners but the game was a close run match with Newton battling out for the win right till the end. Bedians will be well aware of the Merseyside clubs uncompromising style of rugby and our defence will have to be on top form to break them down. Newton le Willows have yet to register a win in the league this season and no doubt will be targeting Saturday’s game as a real opportunity.
The match kicks off at 3pm at Newton le Willows Sports Club, WA12 9XE
